Certainly it's true that some of us find these things a breeze. Some people, believe it or not, even look forward to exams! But then, no-one ever said life was fair. Just as some of us are talented musically, or athletically, or in other ways, some of us find these things difficult.
WHY YOU SHOULD BE NERVOUS
But what if I told you all that's going on here is that no-one's ever shown you the effective techniques and skills you need to get your head in the right space? Think about it. You'd be nervous jumping into a car first time, I hope - particularly if there was no-one next to you to show you how it works and what you need to do. Of course you'd be nervous! Being any other way would, quite frankly, be pretty dumb.
So why do we imagine that we can prepare and ace our exams when we don't have the right techniques in place? And by "right techniques," I don't just mean slowing down your breathing and telling yourself everything's going to be alright. I'm talking about discovering what you need to do that works for you.
Hypnosis can help with this, by freeing up your conscious mind and enabling your subconscious to get into a truly relaxed state, so you can get in touch with that part of yourself that knows how to be confident.
And if you don't believe you have a part like that, just think for a moment about what you really, really enjoy doing - maybe it's singing, or swimming, or playing with your cat. When you're there, in that moment, I reckon you know what confidence feels like. Now all we need to do - all! - is just get that feeling and bring it across to other areas of your life where you don't feel like that. It sounds easy... and, if you know what you're doing, it is!
